BIOGRAFIA

Mylious Johnson was born in New York City, raised in the Bronx, and began playing the drums at the age of 3... initially on anything he could bang on, and eventually on a kit purchased for him by his grandmother. His first public performance occurred when he was only 4 ½ years of age. When the drummer at his father's church did not show, Johnson's grandmother encouraged him to take the stage. Much to the amazement of his parents and the rest of the church, he did.

Mylious Johnson attended the Manhattan Academy of Music, Greater Hartford Academy for Performing Arts, and then the venerable Berklee College of Music where he was given the opportunity to study with Casey Shurell, Ron Silver, Dennis Montgomery and John Ramsey. Completing a major in Music Business Management, he then enlisted in the US Marine Corps as a reservist. This was a special time for Mylious Johnosn because he happened to get stationed at Logistics Base, Georgia, one of the bases of the Marine Corps Band. The drum major was from New York and had been one of the judges when Johnson won the New York All-State Competition, which allowed Johnson unlimited practice time in the drum room.

Upon completion of his active duty time, Johnson returned to New York City and became active playing the club scene and meeting other musicians. He soon got the chance to work with Ron Grant who at the time was with the SONY Music group, and then got the call to play a World tour with 98 Degrees.

Since that time Mylious Johnson has worked with some of the biggest names in today's music scene, from Pink to Mos Def to Queen Latifah, and many more in between. Linda Perry, American Radio, Jessica Simpson and Quincy Jones are but a few in a long list.
